In 1914, Germany jumped into WWI.

• The military needed strong, reliable engines for aircraft.

• Rapp Motorenwerke (BMW’s parent) was already making engines.

so now bmw was making engines of aircraft for germany //

till now bmw was not making cars and bikes 

🔚 But Then It All Died

• After WWI ended in 1918, the Treaty of Versailles (1919) banned Germany from producing aircraft engines.

• BMW was forced to stop.

• That’s when they shifted to motorcycles (1923) and then cars (1928+).

in 1928 bmw start making cars and BMW officially entered the car business by buying another company called Automobilwerk Eisenach.

•  After launching the 3/15 (basically a licensed copy), BMW started making their own original designs.

1933: BMW 303 – First car with the famous kidney grille (yep, the one they still use).

They entered motorsports to get noticed — not because they were fast, but because they needed attention.

WOLRD WAR 2 

BMW returned to building aircraft engines – for Nazi Germany.

Built engines for planes like the BMW 801 (used in the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter).

Also made motorcycles, war equipment, and used forced labor (yes, they did... no hiding that).

AFTER A TIME WORLD WAR ENDES AND BMW GOT HIT 

 1970s Onwards: They Became BMW

• 1972: BMW 5 Series

• 1975: BMW 3 Series

• 1978: BMW M1 (first supercar)

• Built a brand of “driving machines” – sporty, premium, sharp handling.
