 it all start on 19 oct 2009 in Los Angeles, California audi made a billbord showing his new audi a4 with a caption YOU MOVE BMW

BMW responds by placing a giant billboard right across the street with the BMW M3 and this brutal caption: CHECKMATE

Fans and Photoshop war

After this, fans (and ad agencies for fun) started making fake edits showing the brands escalating the fight:

  • Audi using a jet and saying "Your pawn is no match for our queen."

  • BMW responding with a space shuttle, saying "Game over."

These later images weren’t real billboards, but the internet made them viral.
